Luncheon Event: Presenting several Enactus projects and vision for the Ontario's growth to the honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and Judy Morris, Lambton College President.
Hiral Joshi was born on April 21, 1991, in Gujarat, India. As a kid, she always wanted to help others and bring the change where people were suffering fitting themselves in the society and follow dark norms hoping to fulfill the societal standards. Growing up as an observer, she always knew the consequences of her actions, the change she wanted to bring. Hence, she never shared the goals and the vision she had for her life. "She is the only odd in our family and we realized it." says her Grandpa. Growing up with the different goals, she had a hard time being accepted by the group of her age. That was the time she started sitting in a corner just by herself, observing things, expressing her emotions putting into the words and writing letters, taking part into the essay - debate competitions and be the voice of thousands who want the change but fear speaking up. Well, Someone ought to be the leader and say it out loud, and she chose to be one!
Throughout this journey, she met many people who helped her to become the person she is today, and she always will be grateful to them. From parents to school teachers, neighbors to relatives, many people realized her potentials but very few of them actually wanted her to grow and work towards her vision. During her schooling, she was a member of several social awareness clubs, NSS - National Social Services, worked for several government organizations, UNICEF and always made her school proud. In the history of the school, the first time they decided to give the exclusive award under 'Best Conduct - Best Student' category and she was the first recipient of the award! At the age of 12, she started working on various goals including women education, empowerment program, AIDS awareness, eliminate hunger, gender equality, nature and wildlife conservation - each of which have always been a priority in her life. Ever since then, she continues to thrive in making this world a better place to live!
